Was pleased with our deer processed last year, breakfast sausages were great, packages really well. This year completely different story. First off the sausages are WAY too fatty, as you can see in the photos. The sausages were inconsistent in sizing and seemed to be just tossed in a plastic bag then wrapped with butcher paper. Sausage links were not twisted so it spilled out the ends of the casing while cooking. The casings all split and there was so much fat I had to drain it several times while frying. The flavour of the “apple” which I didn’t ask for was bland at best. Not happy at all, and for such a large deer I feel most of the sausage is going to be garbage, or I’ll have to use it as ground….. On the positive side, the mild sausages have good flavouring; my deer was processed fairly quick and it was boxed and ready to pick up. I expect more out of a quality butcher shop, especially when I had such great experience last year.
The family owned business of Burnett Butcher is exceptional! We were on a mission to celebrate our sons birthday with a different steak every day for a week and let me tell you the staff here did not disappoint.. Not only were the Tomahawk, Spinalis , Wagyu Strip loan were all top quality and we were given detailed instructions on proper cooking methods. We are so very impressed with all the staff at this wonderful family business.. It would be a loss if you never step in these doors as they are all 5 stars in , quality, prices, and never disappoint. My hats off to you all for such a fantastic business we w ill l be back soon !! Thank you,
Great butcher shop, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Quick response to emails when requesting a special cut and size of roast. Reminds me of the butcher shop from my small hometown when growing up. Great quality of assorted meats and cold cuts. Prices are very comparable, in cases, less than the big supermarket stores.
Today I walked into burnett's, which is usually a great experience. As the gentleman didn't see me looking at him and was waiting for me to approach the counter, he wiped his nose and face area. When I told him I was sorry, but I'm kind of a stickler about that sort of thing and requested that He wash his hands. He gave me a look like I was a douche, and telling lies before ever so slowly rolling his eyes and go to wash his hands. If I had my time back, I would have walked out. I just think that's disgusting. Now i'm wondering if he ever washed his hands, as I did not hear any water run and what he might have done with them after. I wish I had my time back. Is asking someone, anyone who's dealing with your food to wash their hands insulting I've been in the food service industry and I don't think so. It should be a given, especially these days. Sorry guys I may not be back.
They were closed 30 minutes early on Sunday before canada days. Seems like a weird business decision. Drove there because I was having a big BBQ on canada day and they're all inside with the doors locked at 330 edit: thanks for replying. I appreciate that. My only feedback is that not everyone uses social media to check hours when you have a website and a Google page that both say 4pm Sunday close. I'll be sure to check your socials next holiday
Picked up veal cutlets. Came home, opened up the package to find the veal shredded and extremely thin. Paid $18.99 per pound. I would have expected better quality for that price. Very disappointed.
The owners when are on site service is great, when they are not service is terrible. I drove 30 minutes specifically to get some products from them, without realizing they were closing at 4pm, I came in 10 minutes after 4pm and stuff was still around, when asked them to give me just few stakes and I would pay cash the younger dude told not his problem that I drove 30 minutes to them, and that he has a life to live, when I asked if the owners there, he told me he was the cousin of the owner. I would have spent $200 plus on meat, instead they not only been rude to me, but also when asked them if there is another butcher shop they can point me to, they totally ignored me. Dear owners, your stuff does not represent who you really are, the quality of your product, and its not right. You lost over 1k in my business over this summer on the low end.
