Food was fantastic, drinks were really good. The overall.vibe of the restaraunt was pleasant. Service was great, although a little slow. Overall a great expereince! Would return.
The food and drinks were delicious, a little bit pricey especially since there’s no side included so it’s not very filling. Service was okay, she was super nice but I could tell I was being rushed out. Not entirely her fault because people in line at the door were death staring everyone until they were seated so super uncomfortable atmosphere. Thought this was a cafe you could sit at and have a good time with friends or do a little work on your computer but the atmosphere is very pressurized to get you in and out as quickly as possible. I wasn’t even in there for 40min.
Easily the best tasting coffee in the downtown region of Barrie & I'd probably even say within Canada. I've tried most places around Barrie + travelling to several different big cities in Canada due to my job and I've never had a better Americano, Latte, etc. The staff are awesome there (shoutout Terra), would rate higher if I could! The food is also top notch and pricing is very fair for the quality you get. A top place in Barrie for coffee and food - don't walk, run!
Got the roasted red pepper & tomato soup (chef’s soups are chef’s kiss!), peach cobbler French toast with a side of maple bacon, and a cappuccino. CG uses Good Monday coffee and has a special blend, brewed specifically for them. The French toast featured roasted peaches, house made crumble & whipped cream, on two HUGE pieces of sourdough. Enough for leftovers.
The service and atmosphere was great but the food was disappointing. If you are going to charge $17 for toast, maybe not just one piece in the middle of a plate?
A hidden gem!! Didn't know this place was here, until my teenager found it on Google! Staff was super friendly, food was amazing! Menu changes with the seasons, so visit ASAP and enjoy the peach French toast and the pulled pork Bennie!! Definitely coming back!
Not sure what all the great reviews are about, Sure the place has a nice cafe atmosphere, and the prices are relatively low, but also the portion sizes are extremely small, and despite the somewhat nice presentation the flavors were pretty boring. The lobster roll and avo toast for example were a joke. Most dishes don't have sides.. Wait times were also an issue, probably close to 40 minutes for food to arrive. Staff took order and delivered food and the bill, and forgot a part of the order entirely. Was expecting much more. Definitely not rushing to go back.
