Food was consistently excellent, service was efficient, and the atmosphere was clean and comfortable. Portions were solid for the price. Would return without hesitation.
I've lived in bury my whole life... and CK Chinese food has been a staple for Chinese food in the City of Barrie for the last 40 years... and still the service and the quality of food is second to none... I invite you to try any meal on the menu prepared in a very old school way that tastes amazing again and again

Used the on line app to order dinner last night. It was ready for me when I arrived and EVERYTHING was GREAT! We had the dinner for four, wonton soup, special fried rice and dumplings. Very nice meal with lots of leftovers.
Don't expect the food you may have experienced with CK in the past. We used to love the food coming from this take out restaurant and the flavour and freshness used to be the best. But what happened here!! We ordered their special fried rice, Cantonese chow mien and the BBQ wings. I picked up my order mid afternoon and I have to say when I got the order home and we opened the containers we were shocked. The look and smell of the food was awful. The flavour was like yesterdays leftovers recooked and overcooked. When you spend over $50 for a light dinner you expect the get what you paid for and to have fresh ingredients used. I will not buy here again, EVER.
I hate giving a negative review to a small local business but I think it might be time to shut this one down. We ordered $130 worth of food and not one dish was edible. I will say the delivery was super fast. Saying that out loud though.. strangely fast.. like maybe they didn't cook any of it to order.. but all I can say for sure is it was absolutely disgusting. Literally ate half a plate and threw it all out. There's great Chinese food in Barrie. Won't make this mistake again.
A friend & I tried lunch here on Wed of this week. We asked for, & got, the lunch specials menu. I ordered General Tao, my friend the Chilli Chicken. The owner (I think) was friendly, sincere, accomodating. Our lunches were packed securely in containers & heavy brown bags. Both our lunches were excellent - especially General Tao. The chicken was tender, lightly breaded but crispy. Rice & veggies were perfectly cooked. Each lunch was packed full of chicken - not full of veggies. Quality = excellent; hot & perfect amount of sauce. Size = very, very generous. We live in Midland & come to Barrie twice a month for medical appointments. We WILL return!
