Great way to get local food from farmers here, I went there several times with my dad to get honey and we always not only found a vendor selling what we want, but the honey is some of the best we ever had every time. Even when it comes to different honey sellers.
I've been taking my son to the Barrie Farmer's Market almost every week since he was old enough to walk. He loves being greeted by name at all of our usual stops, and I love that he's growing up with such a strong connection to the farmers, artisans, musicians, and fellow shoppers in our local community. Some vendors are only there during the summer, and some have come and gone over the years, but we always find at least a few things that are delicious, beautiful, or just plain neat. I only have two complaints, and both are pretty minor. First, it would be convenient to have an ATM on site again - most of the vendors take debit or at least e-transfer, but a few are cash-only. And secondly... I selfishly wish he was still young enough to not be able to finish an entire mango lassi by himself. (I might need to start buying two, just to make sure I get at least a few sips of one).
We look forward to it each week, especially during the summer. Love seeing familiar faces and taking our pooch, Pickles for a stroll downtown while it's bustling.
We love the Barrie farmers market, we were staying in the area for a few months and came almost every Saturday. Especially recommend the mini cheesecake stand
Went there around end of April, happy to see they are open even through the cold weather! :) I bet there will be a lot more vendors durning summer weather!
The Berrie Farmer’s Market is a wonderful place where George and I felt so welcomed and part of the community. All vendors and the market manager are not only kind with one another and the new vendor, they are also exceptionally helpful and supportive. We are honoured to be part of the team and be able to share our produce and passion with you all. We are looking forward to serve the customers in the best possible ways and to learn more about this beautiful community.
I love starting Saturdays at the market! Greystone Farm always has so much good produce - and always changing depending what’s in season. Without Reservations has an incredible breakfast smash slider that’s to die for - brisket patty, cheese, fried egg, special sauce and a hashbrown patty ;) they even have a vegan option! If burgers aren’t your thing, they even have a breakfast pizza drizzled in hollandaise - can’t leave without getting a fresh baked loaf of bread from Nkosi Bread Co too - the jalepeno cheddar loaf is insane! Honestly so many great vendors for produce, desserts, protein, flowers and more. 10/10 would recommend
