As a Pokemon TCG player/collector, the prices are out of hand on not only Pokemon product, but practically everything here. A single ETB of destined rivals is $200, which is just unacceptable considering the market value is $100-120 give or take. Selling at a double rate is just not something I can support, and is on the same level as scalpers who ruin the hobby. Not just TCG, but lego sets are also unreasonably inflated prices being sold 50% higher, plushies, and products quality is pretty bad like the lava lamps and swords. Overall, bad business module price wise, do not recommend
TL; DR: Greeted by Céline. Super friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Congrats to her and the store for recognizing her merit. The store seriously needed a new assistant manager. They lost a star because I'm grumpy about their prices on Pokémon. I was hunting for Pokémon cards for the new set Destined Rivals. I went to every shop in Barrie Orillia and Midland including chains like ... guess what, everyone out of stock. I checked out a few long shot places and mindgames came up. I pop over to check them out and was greeted by Céline. She is super friendly, knowledgeable and legit defines good customer service. They had what I was after, although I was a bit miffed over their pricing. She explained that their pricing is high to deter scalpers clearing out the shelves, and look, they had stock. Perfect! Good experience, will be back for those hot ticket items!
Went today with my son to grab a few things. When I went to pay for items, a customer butted in front of me but I let them go and the rep even noticed but served them anyway. Finally my time arrived to pay and I noticed Tapple was on sale which was displayed at the cash for $24.99. I asked the rep if I could also add that to my order and he said yeah go find it. As if I would know where that it?! Not only did i not know where it was I was embarassed looking for it to hold up a line. I didn't realize that it meant I would forfeit my spot in line as I frantically searched for the game thinking he is waiting on me but yeah no I was put on the side and had to wait behind someone. Anyway, about to leave only to find I was overcharged and paid full price $35.99. Had to get back in line to get refunded for store credit all while the guy complained about company policy making me feel like I did something wrong. All I will suggest is maybe the 5 workers who are standing around should be the ones to go fetch the item or have extras behind the cash for the item of the day. The worker made me feel like a complete idiot and I could tell he could care less about how he treats customers. I did catch his name but out of respect I won't post it nor will I come back and will advise others the same.
