Normally I would rate 5 stars I love shopping here. But December 15th I sold my clothes to them and brought a full garbage bag with over 25 items of clothing, 4 pairs of shoes, and accessories they didn’t buy 2 pairs of work boots and heels off me so I took it home. But please tell me how over 25 clothes and 2 shoes is 13 items. I checked my receipt after returning home because I felt like $56 for what I sold to them was low. It was all name brand and between the hunter boots and 2 carhartt hoodies alone if they give u 30% of what it’s worth considering they were in mint condition. And they didn’t even pay me for all items brought. Not sure if this was a mistake and they mixed my items up with someone else. But definitely won’t be selling my items here again.. since I brought well over “13” and was returned 2 things.
I brought some stuff in tonight, and the staff were so fast and friendly to deal with! I was talking to one of the girls about the Frye boots I ended up purchasing. I just wanted to let her know that after looking them up at home, they’re 1980s edition of the Sabrina boot by Frye!! 10/10 experience
I’ve been a regular customer at Plato’s Closet and usually enjoy the affordable fashion and wide selection. However, during my most recent visit to the Barrie location, I had a mixed experience at the cash. One staff member, Nicole, spoke to me with a tone that felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive. It made the interaction uncomfortable and disappointing. Good customer service is a big part of the shopping experience, and I hope management takes steps to ensure all customers are treated respectfully. That said, another staff member with short hair and glasses helped me during the checkout process, and she was absolutely lovely. She was kind, patient, and genuinely helpful—her positive attitude really stood out and helped balance out the experience. She deserves recognition for her great service. I hope future visits are more consistently positive across the board.
Great place for well-priced clothing. Store feels clean and staff is friendly. Men's clothing isn't as good quality as women's (probably because most men are like me and wear their clothes until they get turned into rags! So... if more of you men out there could bring in your nice newer clothing, that would be great for me!
I brought my stuff in today and they didn’t take any of my stuff. I did witness 2 of their employees using one of the perfumes that was in my bin. Most disrespectful thing so you can’t take any of my stuff (which isn’t the problem) but they can use my perfumes. Don’t bring anything into this store if you want employees to use your product and not buy it. Edit: they were not testing the products because I was already there to pick it up when they threw it back in my bin and gave the bin to me.
Sold some women's clothes there and was surprised how much I got. the staff were great even though they were extremely busy. I'll go back to shop and sell
Staff are amazing but I honestly would advice you to not waste your time going here if you're trading for money. I brought in MULTIPLE, like brand new mend products (Nike, Polo, Tommy, Guess, etc) and the only thing that was taken was a shirt from Old Navy (not like brands matter... but still). They told me they were "out of style and old" when I literally received them for Christmas, these t-shirts, long sleeves and sweaters were never worn because they didn't fit and were at the back of my closet with tags still on and didn't have a gift receipt so going here was my best option. It had nothing to do with "overstock" because the mens section is small...I came in with hundreds of dollars of clothing and walked out with the majority of them and a few extra dollars. I would not reccomend selling here at all, you won't get any bang for your buck.
