It was alright. I got the 1/2 pound brownie with Oreo. It’s interesting because it’s extravagant but I didn’t really find it had much flavour wise. The shop smelled delicious like gingerbread though, might be better if you try the actual cakes but based on this I wasn’t really a fan and not really interested in finishing the dessert.
I’ve ordered two cakes from Cakes by Design. Both have been so delicious! And the designs have been exactly what I wanted. I love the flavor options and that they have been able to accommodate short deadlines for me.
Awful customer service! Before the owner comes back and say i didn’t place any order with them; let me be very clear. My friend did!! I paid half of the money you charged her. We were celebrating her birthday, all 13 of us were shocked and disappointed at the same time that you couldn’t wait 10 extra minutes past your closing time for us to come grab her birthday cake. Do not recommend them!! Editing this review to reply the owner. Madam/Sir, When i say i paid half of it; it means we contributed for that cake. Don’t act dumb! Lavinder kaur paid $50 We contributed for her birthday cake. She paid it yes! It was our money though. We are accepting our mistake. We are not running away from it. All the 1 star reviews are legit and are in regards to poor service only. Where you couldn’t wait 10 mins! That’s what’s awful. We never refused pay. She offered to pay extra for 10 min We were all very excited to have a cake from your place as someone on social recommended this. Again- NO REVIEWS ARE FAKE. All are legit. All of us were disappointed. And all of us have a right to post a review.
I am relatively new to the Barrie area, so I’ve been look to try new restaurants and bakeries in the area and the Too Good To Go app has been amazing for this. I ordered twice the Cake Top Surprise bag twice, first order we picked the vanilla mocha and the second order we grabbed the red velvet vanilla. Essentially it looks like a deconstructed cake with icing. The favor and portion size is really amazing. The cakes are super moist and airy and the frosting is silky, fluffy and not overly sweet. Both orders have been a really big hit in my house, especially the red velvet/vanilla we grabbed today which my daughter is going crazy for. A bonus is the bakery is nut free which means I now have a cake place for family events as I have a niece with nut allergies. The only thing I would suggest is to layer the icing throughout because it is just too delicious to only be on top.
We ordered a custom three tier wedding cake and chocolate cupcakes from Cakes by Design. The price was reasonable, and Jen and her team were super accommodating and helpful. Everyone loved the cake- probably the best I’ve ever tasted. It looked beautiful too. Thank you so much!
Yesterday, my boyfriend had a red velvet cupcake and I bought a chocolate mint cupcake and a chocolate caramel cupcake. My boyfriend enjoyed his cupcake and I enjoyed the chocolate caramel cupcake. Tonight I'm going to have the mint chocolate cupcake. I forgot to take a picture yesterday of all three cupcakes, but here is a picture of the mint chocolate cupcake, even though I ate the chocolate stick in the middle!
Best cakes and cupcakes around. Their flavours are incredible, the cake is light, moist and airy. The icing is beyond delicious. They are a peanut free facility!!!! Staff have always been friendly and helpful. I ordered cupcakes for my sons birthday and they wow'd!!!! Honestly just the best!
