READ THIS BEFORE THINKING ABOUT GETTING A MEMBERSHIP Apologies for the long text, but I just want everyone to see the whole story. In the morning I had my car towed from Barrie to Mississauga for my car to be tuned. The car is lowered so I kept the front bumper off to help with not scraping, plus easier access for us if something is wrong with the parts that were installed in there. The guy comes and jokes about how low it is and we just talk about his story and how hes been in the business for over 30 years and once owned his own towing company, so I know hes good. No problems here. Gets it on the truck now problem and off without even getting close to touching the front end on the ground or the truck. After the tune is done the car is up and running, but I obviously dont want to drive it all the way up to Barrie with no front bumper, so a request a tow. Tow truck drive gets there and starts taking pictures of the front end, and says give me 2 minutes, I just have to call dispatch. Here we go, I could just tell he wanted nothing to do with it. Seriously, it is there job to tow vehicles and they still dont want the work. A few minutes go by and go to his truck. He gets out puts it on speaker phone and I hear the last part with the guy saying Yes, thats not road legal and the driver says thank you and hangs up. I ask How is it not road legal?! He shakes his head, doesnt say anything, and drives off as fast as he can. How do I know that the guy on the phone wasnt one of his friends just saying that to get him out of towing?! I didnt even see the number or talk to the guy on the phone! What do I do? Call for another truck and complain what just happened. The guy who I was on the phone with now said he Had to look into it. He wanted to see what the drivers notes where but couldnt find them. So, he had to call dispatch to see what happened. After waiting a few minutes, he got back on the line and said my car wasnt road legal because it doesnt have plates. I said it does on the back, but the driver never checked there. After going back and fourth for 20 minutes. He first said that they would send a tow truck after talking to his supervisor, but then put me on hold again because his supervisor wanted to talk with him again. After that he said they couldnt tow it. He then gets the supervisor, who I had to wait for another 5 minutes to talk to. The supervisor now pulls this s**t out of his a** that they cant tow it because it is considered a Transportation tow meaning that because I want a tow to my house and not a shop, they cannot do it. Hes not budging at all to help me, so after 30 minutes on the phone I had enough. He said I could purchase my own tow to get home and that CAA may reimburse me for it (probably not). He then said I hope your day gets better from now on where I replied I thought that was your job to make happen and hung up. Luckily, the gentleman who towed it for me in the morning gave me his number and said he would tow it back. I only didnt want him to tow it because it would have been the next day in the morning, and I didnt really want to leave my car there over night but had to anyway. Luckily, the gentleman towed it for me the next day. So, whats the moral of this story?1.Very few drivers want to do their job2.If your tow is more than around town, good luck3.If your car is lowered, good luck 4.Licence plate (AR 84827) is a horrible person, and should find a different job5.Finally, if you want a tow home, forget about it

This review is for all of CAA and not just this specific store.Last year I got my license and my first car and drove across Canada. I decided to get CAA before my trip and it was one of the best decisions I made. The ladies at this location were very helpful with helping me and my sister prepare in every way they could the best way possible. They provided us with maps and a custom booklet of our trip; and joining our accounts to save money was a breeze.I made it to BC with no problems. But I wrote off my car in NL after hitting a water bar on the hwy. I don't know what I would have done without CAA's support. My insurance company did nothing at all to help me, and CAA went above and beyond. They sent me a $600 cheque to go towards my car and to get back home. They paid for two seperate tows which would have exceeded $600 if I had to pay out of pocket and were also there for moral support. Once I got home, I got my passport photo's done through them, which was fast and free. My partner locked his keys in his truck while it was still running when we were on site and they were there in less then a half hour to unlock it for him, free. And I get amazing discounts at so many places because I am a member. I don't know how to thank CAA enough, I greatly appreciate everything they have done for me, and am blown away by the customer service. I will be a CAA member for life, without any hesitation. I am 100% more confident as a driver, knowing if anything happens with my car CAA will be there to back me. Thank you !

Thank you very much CAA for your fast, professional, courteous and honest analysis of my truck's problem and your help today. I now will not miss my Doctor's appointment. You are more valuable than GOLD.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IF YOUR IN THE BARRIE AREA.CAA south central is constantly providing the excuses that they are having higher then normal call volume and not enough trucks, this is rediculas for a company with a CAA store in town. I have been waitin 4 hours for a truck, should not have wasted my money on membership as i could have been home by now with another company.I highly advise against giving them your money as they wont keep their promises of being there in your time of need.

Horrible service. My family has dealt with this company previously and recommend I book through them. I had emailed their agent Jackie Szabo our travel plans and requirement in advance of our booking. When we were ready to book she did not return calls and she left her outdated voicemail active for a couple of days. After multiple calls to other staff and emails to her directly, I was sloughed off to call an 800 number to deal with someone who has no documentation about our travel plans.I would absolutely not recommend others use this company. I will be recommending that my family members also cease future bookings through them.
