Mcreillys is my all time favourite pub downtown Barrie! This place always has something to offer. Different specials everyday and a new updated menu. The vibes here are unmatchable to anywhere else. The staff is truly amazing on every level. Hailee, Tyson, Lynn and Bailey make this place so fun and friendly. Doesn’t matter if it’s for lunch or some drinks after work - it’s always a good experience and feels like family. Live music on the weekends and always whatever sports game that is on! Definitely recommend this place

I'd like to start by saying I have been to McReilly's often, and every time the food has been outstanding. Tyson, the bartender, has always been attentive and upbeat. Last night, though, was one of the worst experiences I had eating out. The place felt cold and depressing. I attended with my girlfriend for dinner, and when we chose a table, I had to get the server to wipe down a very sticky table. We were asked right away if we wanted to place our order, but I hadn't even opened the menu yet, let alone sat down. After that, we were pretty much forgotten about. The whole bar/pub is served by the bartender, where it seems they are more interested in pouring drinks and chatting with the drunks. We even had another table near us speaking up to get some service as they had been sitting unattended, since they arrived, for about 15 minutes. My girlfriend ordered fries with a grilled cheese, and I ordered the Tex-Mex fries. My girlfriend noticed that the cheese in the grilled cheese was not melted and still had solid cheese chunks, so she ate her fries while waiting for our server to come back to mention it to her. They only came back when we were pretty much done and were clearing the plates. It was mentioned about the grilled cheese, where they offered to take it to the kitchen and fix it. They came back saying it was made fresh. Unfortunately, all that was done to fix it was to microwave it. It came back limp with a plate of the liquid cheese that had oozed out of the sandwich. It was no longer edible, so we just left it. As for my meal, the fries were hot as they should be, but the salsa and sour cream on top were freezing cold. Enough so that I could feel the cold on my teeth when I was eating it. To top it off, the bottom of my plate was a lake of tomato water. I take it the salsa was frozen and then defrosted to put on top of the fries, but the liquid drained to the bottom of the plate and made at least half of my fries soggy. I only ate about half of my order that wasn’t soggy. We waited for about 15 minutes to pay our bill, so I eventually decided to just go to the bar and stand by the cash register to get her attention to pay. As I said, I have eaten here in the past and the food has been excellent, but last night, being totally forgotten about and the food being a 1 out of 10 was a bit of a shock.

One of my favourite pubs in Barrie, and especially when I was in college. Went there after I graduated and glad to see it atill going strong years later.

Food was awesome, above expectations! Tyson took care of us. He was on point. Attentive, prompt, courteous and pretty funny! Haha Would recommend, and will be back when in the area again.

Came for a few drinks, Tyson was my server. What a gem, true blue salt of the earth kinda fella. Great service, pretty face and a good time. Will be back!

absolutely love tyson — he is such a great server. the sticky toffee pudding is absolutely insane, highly recommended for anyone. this is my favourite after work spot to have a few drinks and some incredible food

Edit: We went back to see if things had changed and offered to remove this feedback and the same man (the manager?) who had yelled at us, decided we could not return. Unless a business is willing to correct their wrong doings, in no way will I remove honest feedback. He literally told me that the feedback is why we aren't allowed back, however, feedback is important and not an excuse to punish customers. Original: Horrible Service!! Yelled at by staff! Bad quality! Horrible experience! We were long time customers until our last visit when we decided that we had enough. The French fries were never fresh, I would request they make them fresh at order time, still brought me twice fried or cold fries, I got them to remake and instantly noticed a major difference in the look of them not just the fact they were hot and the others weren't. The employee who constantly lied to my face about the 'fresh fries' decided to tell me off on our last visit in November 2022. The chicken wrap had hard pieces from over cooked deep fried chicken which by experience at this pub I can say wasn't fresh at all! After chewing on several pieces that were rough to chew I took a piece out and couldn't break it with my fingers so I told him about it and how it could break my root canal tooth and he told to me see my dentist if I didn't like it, as if it's okay to serve me non-edible food that's as hard as a bone. He then preferred to throw it out and blame me for wasting food and costing him money because of my complaints. Apparently it costs money to run a successful business and keep customers satisfied . The only table we would sit at was at the back due to how gross it smells, it basically smells like old cigarettes and puke except for at the back. I honestly didn't complain that often and except for the last time I only had an issue with their lack of Buffalo sauce one time and a ranch drenched wrap that was soo soggy it was served with the bottom of the wrap falling apart, my ONLY complaints were about the fries, which I didn't complain about on our last visit because they were slightly warm. The servers recognized us and knew everytime that we wanted fresh fries, we always ordered the same thing, a little consistency isn't too much to ask for. The price may have increased for inflation but the food quality has changed for the worse. The chicken honestly tasted like it was frozen fingers not like the fresh made chicken tender strips we had gotten used to. After the server was rude towards me, I decided I would not be returning as the food is not worth the money and as the bill was being paid the man went off on me telling me not to return if I don't like the food and when my friend decided she would not return either and I told him he yelled "FANTASTIC!". Unbelievable! As a two-spirit transwoman, I really don't know if this was racist or sexual discrimination, but I wasn't comfortable with the male employee aggressively YELLING at me and treating me less than human. Not 2SLGBT+ friendly at all! Avoid this unprofessional and unfriendly atmosphere! There are several proper establishments on Dunlop St. to choose from.
