Restaurant was closed as hotel had no heat. Very bad day and was so cold and had dressed for inside not outside temputures inside. Should have canceled training.
Was staying at hotel, for a hockey tournament, sent are teenage kids down for breakfast (with money), They were refused service as they were not adults, even though are eldest son was 18yrs. Discrimination at its finest !
Let me start by saying this is NOT a reflection of the front end staff. They were lovely and should not be penalized for this review. We ate here on 3 occasions because my youngest child was ill and leaving the hotel was not really an option. The buffet was ok at best, like a step down from golden griddle which is also pretty terrible kind of ok. The food was old and stale. The dinner.... Well.... My $22 ravioli was obviously frozen, the sauce was canned, and if the soup was freshly made, it was still right up there with the saltiest thing I've ever tasted. For $22 for pasta, I expect homemade. I understand why the dining room was empty. I feel for the wait staff, as they're not making any money. Why? Because the food is terrible.
Id recommend any place else in the area. We got the buffet with our team because we stayed at the hotel. all parents and kids complained. they staffed 1 server for 40-50 people and the poor server was overwhelmed for obvious reasons. The Meal was the issue for everyone. Best thing there was penne noodles with cheese (it was also the only thing I ate that was warm). Most trays were empty I went up and what was there was cold. 2nd time the penne was full and warm and they had a few more options but was room temperature at best. in the end the meal for 1 adult and 2 kids under 12 was $78 plus tip and we only had 1 pop as our other drink orders were forgotten
Had occasion to be in Barrie at the Holiday Inn. The restaurant was larger than I expected. The food was delicious, the service was great, the food was served in a timely manner, done as I wanted and still hot. The decor is bar-like but not tasteless. Parking is available. The restaurant is up a flight of stairs-elevator is available.
We went for the Christmas buffet . The service was great ! However the food was not as advertised, it was over priced cafeteria food, served on the cold side, veggies were not cleaned . It was really pitiful, and overpriced .
Terrible food, overcompensating service. The featured dinner of the day was fish and chips which tasted microwaved. The stella artois was the only thing that even lived up to its standard. But then again, they cant make it in house, so its good. Literally nobody else was in the entire restaurant when I went. I should have seen that and left.
