Huge shout out to Faisal for finding time in their busy snowtire season to fit in an emergency repair to my vehicle. They did a great job on the repairs, Communicated every step, and charged a very fair amount. Definitely recommend this place for auto repairs.
I used to go here for service because they were pretty good to me. At one point in time, they treated me fairly. My last service was last year and needed a part after they performed a diagnostic as I had a light on the dash. Called a few months later to inquire about the part and was told it was still on backorder and they would call me. Fast forward 9 months, took my vehicle in for service again this year. I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change and inquired about a part that was supposedly on back order. Eight hours later, I call to ask when my vehicle will be ready. They said they need an hour more and then I could pick it up. I get there and talk to the new Service manager, Faisal Khan, and he tells me that they did my oil change and essentially took my vehicle apart trying to troubleshoot the light on the dash. I told them yeah, that was for the part I need, that you were supposed to order last year. He tried to wheel and deal with me about the cost and all day troubleshooting that they had done. I again asked about my part as I had already paid for the "troubleshooting" last year and was just waiting on the part. They had no record of my order. He then tried to convince me that there were all these wires that they needed to test and had schematics out, told me they were in the middle of testing and were marking the schematic with what they had done so far. He tried to show me and explain the schematic to me, and said, these are all the wires for your car and all these wires need to be tested, we tried some and still couldn't find the issue. The schematic had zero markings on it, ie, no results of their wire tests and wasn't even sure it was for my vehicle. He wanted me to bring it back for a couple of days of work to continue testing. I told him I had already paid for the diagnostic and just want the part. He said that the diagnostic they did last year was no good and then said he couldn't find it in the system and the wires needed to be tested. He then continued trying to negotiate how much to charge me for all the work they did, it ranged from about 3 hours to 8 hours and he couldn't decide. I advised that I did not authorize them to do that work, nor did I sign anything for it and only authorized the oil change and I was only inquiring about the part. Result: I paid only for my oil change, grabbed my keys and left and will NEVER, EVER, be back. I was a longtime customer and had purchased three vehicles from them in the past 20 years as the vehicles I purchased were decent. I guess now they are one of those places that upsells and lies. They took my vehicle apart and there were screws and pieces all strewn about my vehicle. Some of the pieces are now missing screws and parts of my interior are lose.
I've been using Coates for several years now for servicing our vehicles. They've been trustworthy and easy to deal with. We recently purchased a used vehicle there. The service provided was fabulous and the process made simple for me to understand. Thank you especially to my salesperson Aidan!!!
Just picked up my new car . Well new to me extremely happy with Dan my salesman from the moment I walked in the door . He was so helpful and made me feel like he cared . I IN NO WAY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NICE TRY CHANGING MY NOT RECOMMENDED TO RECOMMEND WOW YOU GUYS ARE SO SHADY!!!! Purchased a vehicle from G.D Coates 5mths ago and a few weeks ago we noticed the rocker had 2 not one but 2 massive holes in is completely rusted, soft and rotting away! Brought it in to show them and they first said they would let us pick out and switch for another vehicle in the same price range. Then it was they would pay for it to be fixed. Now its we are SOL and they want us to pay for it ourselves! Spoke to Dwayne and hes about as useful as the busted rocker. I told him unfortunately we would have to take legal action and his response was * I know the drill, you get a lawyer and so will I!* Just from that response I now know he has screwed over so many people! I will definitely be getting ahold of my lawyer and notify every social media and new platform I can! How disgusting and greedy can people be? You put not only myself at risk but my child! I JUST finished beating 2 types of aggressive stage 3 breast cancer and trust me I WILL WIN THIS ALSO! Also a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO PAUL TERVELD FOR being a shady mechanic and actually SAFETYING this!!!! I bought my 90 year old Dad a Chrysler 300 Certified it only had 104,000 Ks looked really nice drove nice But 6 months later My Dad Lost his License He Had Only Put 2,000 Ks on The Chrysler 300 Went To Get It Certified and The Underbody Was Full Of Holes Big Enough To Put My Hand In Several Places And I Was Told That All The Front End Parts Had Been Replaced Not Even Close I Had To Spend $6,000 Dollars In Order To Sale The Chrysler 300 Only After 6 Months And 2,000 Ks What A Bunch Of Con Men Money Greedy Take Advantage Of Myself And Knowing That It Was Going To A 90 Year Old Man SHAME On You GREEDY GUYS
We searched high and low to find a used vehicle that would be perfect for my Son's first car. We almost gave up until we found the team at G D Coates. Dave and Duane were extremely helpful and were sensitive to not letting my Son get buried in a long-term or unaffordable car payment for his first car. They rolled out the red carpet for us, had the car ready and up front for a test drive, and treated us just as they would if we were buying a $60,000.00 new car. They applied no pressure to "making a sale", they understood it was more important that the car was a good fit all around. Needless to say we bought the car and enjoyed the experience end-to-end.
