Great gym! We climbed here for like 2+ hours and still did not try everything. The climbs are fun and challenging. Good setting. Chill atmosphere. I found the mats to be on the firm side, but to each their own. I was also not able to find a water fountain? Which led to having to purchase liquids.
We have been coming to Alt Rock for about 6 years over all. We have previously even had a membership with them. The gym is friendly and clean. They have a bit of something for everyone. Highly recommend dealing with them.
Fantastic climbing gym, lots of problems to work on at all skill levels! I only wish for extended hours so I could get in morning sessions during the week.
The kids had an absolute blast, The staff was friendly and informative and the place was super clean. Unfortunately for myself, after 20 minutes of climbing, an old injury prevented me from climbing anymore. When I handed in my shoes the owner asked me if we were done and I explained about a previous broken foot that's giving me issues. When the boys and I were getting ready to leave to go grab some lunch. The owner approached me and thanked me for coming in to try out his facilities. He then handed me a free day pass to come back and climb because I didn't get an opportunity to really explore his gym. This is probably the best customer service I've experienced in a long time and it's owners like this that need our support. Thanks for the great experience in the amazing customer service. Will definitely be back!!!
This is an amazing gym! Friendly staff! Clean. Incredible climbing specific conditioning area in the back. I recently had an adult lesson with Mike. He is knowledgeable and thorough. I walked away knowing my strengths and climbing needs. He also provided drills and exercises to improve my climbing. I cant wait to put the plan into action. I am also excited to sign up for another lesson in a month or so! Thanks Alt Rock Team!
Weve been to Alt Rock twice now. We have three active kids ages 11, 10 and 7 and my wife and I are very active too. Usually Im unimpressed with climbing gyms, and typical climbing where we stand belaying our kids the entire time isnt fun for very long. Bouldering however allows the whole family to be involved at the same time! At first I when I walked in I thought these walls arent high, this will be easy. Well lets just say there is something for everyone from the very beginner all the way to human monkeys!! What I loved the most was that my wife and I felt free climbing along side our kids, we all challenged ourselves and had fun. Alt gym is very open, bright and clean. It has great washroom, changeroom and warm up facilities and even when their is 50 people in there its so big with so many options to take you dont notice it. The staff takes the time to go through everything with each new climber and you practice safely using the protective mats which are very cushy in case you need them. Lastly, the rates are very family friendly. Coming from Toronto it was refreshing to go climbing with the whole family, arriving with no climbing gear for just over $70 taxes in. The second time we came we brought another family with us and they loved it also. Always nice when sharing something and the same quality and level of experience is consistent so anyone you bring has just as good of an experience.
Great place for a family to be active! We brought our 5 and 2 year old and they both loved it! Our 5 year old was climbing to the top in no time. The staff is very friendly and helpful (which was great for us as we are new to the sport). We didnt feel intimidated at all. It was a very relaxed environment. It was nice to see how supportive and encouraging the climbers are of each other! Looking forward to signing up for some programs and spending time with the family here!
Love this place so much. We go with my one year old neice, and my two young boys sometimes. It's great for the whole family and it's a good workout to help get into shape. Also, highly addictive. Be prepared to spend lots of time there.
This facility is gorgeous! Very clean amd spacious. There is a good variety of climbs and lots for beginners to try! The owner is friendly, and in my experience so are the regular climbers! Would definitely recommend to new and experienced climbers alike!
Great gym! Well set routes and a killer training room. Music playlist is awesome, and staff are super friendly! 10/10 would recommend
