Very disappointed with the service. The team seems to lack basic customer service skills and professionalism when it comes to assisting clients. Once you upgrade your membership, there’s no option to return to the basic plan, and it comes with several unexpected charges. Every concern raised is simply labeled as a “management issue.” Even with the new management, what about the promises made to existing clients? There seems to be no accountability or proper customer resolution. Definitely not the kind of service one would expect.
Pros: • Great price and membership value • Good hours during the week (weekends could be longer) • Excellent range of equipment — lots of options, heavy dumbbells, great machines • Sauna works well and gets properly hot • Decent music — better than most gyms Cons: • Cleanliness is a serious problem. Men’s washrooms and change rooms are extremely dirty and clearly not cleaned often. • Weights are rarely put back where they belong — very disorganized. • Water stations are outdated, dirty, and need upgrading to modern filtered units. • No sanitizing wipes available for cleaning equipment. • Music in the locker area and sauna is way too loud. • Staff are friendly but not proactive or attentive. Summary: For the price, this is a great gym with solid equipment and a good setup overall — but cleanliness, organization, and maintenance need urgent attention. If they fix that, it could easily be one of the best gyms in Barrie.
Dirty gym, muuuuch better gyms in Barrie don’t waste your time honestly. It doesn’t even compete with the quality of gyms that have came to Barrie in the last 5 years
This gym really made me the man I am today, met lots of pals, scored with the chicks and became super built. This had always been the place for me to let out my emotions and truly be myself. This is where i feel seen. This is where I feel home. This is where I belong. World gym is my world, thank you for all you’ve done for me. I love you.
I only gave 1 star because of the hours and the inconsistency of fees taken out. They kept fees when they wanted having my bank charge me for SEVERAL NSF’. Not very ept to make things right with the customers. They are no longer 24 hours. The classes are definitely not for Beginners lol. And one of the machines that I really like has been down for quite awhile now. Not recommended at all.
Updating to 1 star after 4 months from my previous review: the exactly same machines that were out of order are still out of order and they never got fixed, even when that's the only machine of its type in the gym. That's a shame. Others recently became out of order, so I can only imagine it will also take months and months. Previous comment, when I gave it two stars: The location and staff are both good, the variety of equipment is great, but their current state is not good. Almost all the treadmills are broken, and some that are not "out of order" and worming have terrible mats, irregular. Some other equipments and machines also put of order forever and some of the ones that are working perfectly fine are with super old cushions, full of cracks and holes that are extremely uncomfortable. Also, there's not even body wash/soap in the washrooms if you want to take a shower after your workout.
Great staff, great location. Awesome people who come here. They've made my journey to better myself easier. Would definitely recommend anyone to come here.
