I stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Barrie. When I left I forgot 3 coats in the closet. Their policy is to keep forgotten items for 60 days. I paid Purolator to have my coats sent to me. I only received 2 out of the 3 coats. They told me on the phone that they had found my 3 coats. What happened to my third coat? I have called many times and have gotten the run around by the staff and the general manager. So, be careful what you leave behind, because you might never get your item (s) back.
We enjoyed the stay in this hotel. We stayed in a clean and comfortable room with two queen beds. The room was bigger than I thought. They have a swimming pool and a whirling pool. The breakfast was great. Highly recommended.
Where is the recycling!? This was my first time at a Hampton Inn Hotel and I can't say I was impressed. Although the rooms were clean, the beds were uncomfortable spring mattresses that would wake my partner and I whenever one of us moved in the night. The breakfast was edible though nothing about it was notable. The biggest shock though was there were no recycling bins anywhere. All the disposable paper plastic cutlery and paper plates were thrown in the garbage. No blue bins in the rooms. Come on guys...it's 2018! We all have to do our part. I won't be returning until you modernize your waste stream.
Great hotel! We come to Barrie at least once a month and have stayed at a few different hotels in town. This is one of the best we've stayed at, staff are very friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and spacious, no microwave no fridge, but has a coffee maker and the other usual amenities. 24 hour coffee and tea in the lobby and if you use the Hilton App you don't even need to stop at the front counter when you get here. Will definitely be back.Update June 2018; fridge should be standard in all rooms, not only on request... and not a fan personally of baked beans for breakfast. I get that its a British thing, but we live in Canada and like our meat. Give me sausage or bacon.Great little workout room, decent size pool with hot tub.
Clean and modern hotel with comfortable beds and nice amenities. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent with a good variety of options, and coffee available all day. The smartphone room key feature was pretty neat, and it was convenient not having to work about remembering my key.
