I don’t usually leave reviews, but felt the need to share my experience. I recently got a new puppy and had booked him in for his next round of shots. A few days before the appointment, I noticed a bump on his ear that seemed to be getting bigger. As a concerned new dog owner, I called ahead to ask if it might be worth bringing him in sooner. The receptionist laughed and said there was no way for her to know and that she wasn’t a veterinarian—delivered in a very condescending tone. I completely understand she isn’t qualified to make medical decisions, but the lack of empathy really caught me off guard. You are the first point of contact at a veterinary clinic—people call in worried about their pets. A little kindness and consideration goes a long way, especially when speaking to someone clearly anxious about their dog and just looking for direction. Even something as simple as offering to ask a vet or suggesting I book in right away would’ve made a huge difference. Hopefully this is just a one off but bad vibe overall—canceled my appointment and will be going elsewhere.
After a horrendous experience at the Barrie Veterinary Emergency Clinic, we asked our regular vet here to see if they could save our dog. They couldn't have been more caring, competent and exhaustive in trying to figure out what caused him to bleed for a solid 28 hours, at which point he was nearly dead from loss of blood, discounting everything else. Dr. Sara and Dr. Peter have been amazing, and he is on the mend.
I can't even express how amazing this place is. My 11 year old Siberian husky tore both crucial ligaments and tore both meniscus. I was calling around to a bunch of surgeons to see who was the most cost competitive for the TTA/TPLO surgery, as well as who could get him in quicker because I didn't want him in a lot of pain for an extended period of time. My vet had said that Dr Sara was very busy and she might not be able to get him in as quick but she comes highly recommended. I ended up giving her a call and she did say that she was fully booked for over a month because of all her surgeries and that she could get me in on a certain date (it was about a month and a half out).15 minutes later she called back and she said that she would be able to squeeze Kado in within 3.5 weeks because she doesn't like seeing animals in pain. She was also the only board certified surgeon near me, and her pricing is very competitive. Ever since that day it has been an amazing experience with her and her team. Sara talked to me over and over again, while answering all of my questions and concerns (I'm probably annoying, but this was my dogs first surgery so I was a basket case) My pup had an infection post-surgery and Sara was there every step of the way to make sure that he was completely looked after, trying new medications because he has a sensitive stomach and spending hours of her time to support him. Kado's next surgery is scheduled June 3rd, and I am so relieved that Sara will be the one preforming his surgery again. Her and her team are truly amazing. And they all love Kado which helps! Thank you for taking such good care of him ? ---- UPDATE DEC 22 2021 I am still so thankful for this clinic. Kado has recovered so well from both is TTA surgeries and actually had to have surgery on his eye to remove a mass at the end of Nov. My vet recommended Dr. Sara again for it, and again Kado was well taken care of. I could never fully express how thankful I am for this amazing team. They have taken such careful care of my old pup and increased his quality of life. ---- UPDATE TO MY UPDATE Dec 4 2025 Many years later, many appointment later, and this is still the best vet I have ever been too. November 2023, we had to put our sweet boy down, and the Mapleview team handled it with such compassion, gave Kado some love before going into the room, and gave us as long as we needed to say goodbye. I was having a hard time leaving the room with my dog still laying there after he had passed, and the team allowed my other half to take him to another room to help me out. Kindness in moments like that, make a world of difference. Fast forward to Nov 2024, and I adopted a 4 to 5 year old cat from a rescue that said he had been checked and had a clean bill of health. The cat ended up having herpes, requiring all his teeth to be pulled due to decay, exposed roots, etc etc. Jess, the new owner went above and beyond, worked on pricing, called the vet the rescue was going to send Badger to, advised that she wouldn't recommend going to the rescue vet because they weren't even going to do xrays during surgery etc etc. She listened to us complain about the frustrations with the rescue, and really went above and beyond. The rescue said they wouldn't cover the procedure unless we went to one of their vets, so we found another one who completed one half of the surgery so far. Badger 1.5 weeks after surgery, ended up sneezing a lot and was showing signs of infection. Called Mapleview and within an hour had a prescription for the cat, and they're looking at him today just to ensure nothing more sinister is going on with his incisions. They are genuinely great people who care so much about animals. Highly, highly recommend.
We have a veterinary clinic close to her house, in fact a few of them but we drive the 25 minutes to go to this Vet Clinic because they treat our animals so well. We highly recommend the doctors and all of the staff here. Very friendly very supportive!
The dog loves going. There's some treats at the counter for the puppets. Doctors are friendly.
This is my Animal Clinic. I would never go anywhere else. The folks here have helped me with 7 of my cats and now care for others. These people are so amazing. When I had to put my cat down, they were the most supportive people I have ever had around me. They kept me from a total melt down. Dr. Amy thank you for everything you do to help me and my son with our precious fur babies. Dr. Peter thank you for all that you have done and continue to do to take care of my fur babies. Sherry, Andrea, Brit, to you I can not imagine a Vet clinic without you and your constant loving care for my fur babies. Sara, you own and run the most Amazing Animal Clinic I have ever had the pleasure to be connected with. Thanks to ALL of you. You make my Vet visits amazing and I feel your love for my fur babies. To all of the others in the background that I do not really know, thank you for being a part of this amazing Animal Clinic where you all do great works. I would not go anywhere else. The team at Mapleview Animal Clinic is top notch! They all go out of their way to make certain that both the pets and owners are well taken care of! The receptionists are absolutely wonderful and it amazes me each time that they can keep track of everyone's 'baby', memorized their names and know their needs. Our 3 dogs loved going there and always greeted the staff with plenty of kisses! The veterinarians Peter and Amy take their time with each consultation, never making you feel rushed, and explain carefully all options available so that the proper course of treatment may be chosen for your pet. When it was time to put our elderly dog to sleep they were kind enough to come to our home so that she would not be stressed in her final hours and could peacefully fall asleep in the home she loved. We will never forget what kindness and gentleness Peter and Andrea showed to our beloved fur-babies and us on that difficult day!
