Unfortunately my partner and I had to stop using this vet. We have been bringing our dog there for close to 5 years. Used their services to put our cat to sleep and have just used their services for the first year of shots for our new kitten. We adopted our kitten from the humane society, in which he had already received most of his vaccines and we were required to take him to our vet to receive the boosters and his rabies vaccine as he was too young to receive this at the time. So we brought him to Simcoe Vet and the first visit he was given the FVCRP (should have been his 3rd dose booster) and the Feline Leukaemia vaccine. This visit cost us $237. They then told us we would have to come back to his rabies and the boosters for the FVCRP (already had 3 doses at this point) and the leukaemia booster. This was another $237.They unfortunately did not return to us our paperwork from the humane society, indicating the vaccines, bloodwork and surgery information from his neutering surgery that he had received. At our second visit they determined our kitten at ideal weight, yet had us purchase nexguard in case of a parasite. After this they tell us we need to bring a stool sample in to test. Though our kitten is ideal weight and eating normally. They tell us it will be $92 for the stool sample test and that they do not have record of any bloodwork being done at the humane society (blatant lie). So all in all our kitten’s first year of shots cost us $474. Everywhere else that I have checked ranges from $150-170 for their first year’s of shots including boosters. It also cost us around $480 to put our cat to sleep with them, which did not align with the average $280-300. They claim to base their prices of guidelines. These our the same guidelines that have indicated the average prices above. In the 5 years we have used this vet, we have not seen a consistent veterinary and the vet tech staff seems to be a revolving door. I have attached an email from them where they identify that he already had his first round of shots prior to attending their clinic. The woman on the phone also told us she would send us the guidelines that they use for pricing. She then later told is these cannot be shared with the public. Very deceptive. We are very dissatisfied with their services and will not be returning.
The team that helped us with Shortfin was very patient and generous. His anxiety and reactivity make him very stressed at the vet. They made it a safe experience for him and gave me lots of good information about anxiety medication for him. Simcoe hospital was recommended to me and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a safe place to take their animals. I feel very lucky to have found a vet office I can take my furbaby in an emergency.
The staff there are always very caring. I appreciate that they start their appointments on time and that they do follow up checking to see how my kitty cat is doing. I’ve been with them for over 20 years now and can’t say enough positive things.
Nothing but great experiences at Simcoe Vet Clinic!! Our dog Ozzie loves everyone in the clinic and is always excited to go! They make time for him when needed and there is never a problem for urgent visits just to check in! In addition, they consistently follow up to find out if the care plan is working. I would highly recommend this clinic hands down!
We have been dealing with Simcoe veterinary for over 2 decades and multiple pets over the years . The staff is very friendly and efficient as well as very knowledgeable and it is clear they are pet lovers. The Doctors are second to none . I highly recommend Simcoe Veterinary.
We moved to Barrie a year ago with our two chihuahuas. We lived in Florida and Trinidad&Tobago before here and SVH is by far the best veterinarian service we have ever experienced. The change of climate here affected our dogs in many ways and because of that we have been to SVH several times in the last year. Fortunately they offer pet insurance, which saves us a TON of money but it certainly doesn't change the quality of care. Dr Spring is our dogs' favorite vet, and Dr Bolton is amazing too. The staff truly cares for animals and they treat ours and all others with love and care - we've been there often enough to see this firsthand - and no concern is too insignificant to be checked out thoroughly. We are so lucky to have found the perfect veterinarian team via friends' recommendations. If your pets are family then they deserve the best care. Simcoe Vet Hospital gives them exactly that, and more. Don't waste your time going anywhere else.
There were very helpful and compassionate in caring for our pet, trying to give us the best advice on what to do for our sick pet , because of their help our cat is still alive and doing much better. Thanks so Simcoe Veteraniary Hospital. From smudge and the rest of the family.
Over priced, in it for the money and not for the animals and associated with one of the WORST rescues ever "Precious Paws". i'd run for the hills if I were you! I know personally as I was a volunteer foster parent dealing with both the hospital and the rescue. They are intertwined and shady/unethical. Euthanasia of their foster animals at the the snap of their fingers!
I first went to this clinic for a second opinion for my pug Snorkie. Not only did I receive great advice, their price for the surgery was substantially less than our previous clinic for the same service. Dr Spring and the team at Simcoe Vet are very thorough, take the time to explain the condition as well as possible options, and only recommend tests that are necessary to provide the best care for my dogs. I won't take my dogs anywhere else, and my in-laws have also transferred theirs dogs care to Dr. Spring. Thanks guys!!
Very friendly and helpful veterinary. My cat has been steadily declining these past couple months and they have done everything they can for him including squeezing us in on extremely short notice. Instead of pressuring us.to do expensive tests that will not likely help in any way, they recommend practical solutions.
